White was only used sparingly throughout the season as a backup to Travis Henry. White had season highs of 48 and 35 yards in both of the games against the Colts.
Although the team has moved very cautiously during the early free agency period, it is expected that the team will possibly look for a seasoned veteran to continue the running back by committee philosophy of Coach Jeff Fisher. With running backs Chris Brown and Ron Dayne still available after the signings of Dominic Rhodes, Jamal Lewis, and Ahman Green, few still remain. The upcoming draft may be the only way to land some good talent at the position.
The role White will play this fall will definitely be much larger. It has been very rare for a team in the NFL to be led in the backfield by two second-year players, but the Titans appear to be set to find out where they will lead the team this fall.
