Titans All-Time Special Team

The Titans Insiders staff has compiled the first part of three teams selecting the all-time greatest players in franchise history for the Titans/Oilers. We are proud to present the Special Teams players that have been selected by our staff.

The selection based performance on statistics while they played for the Titans franchise and not on overall career totals. The franchise has had many great players that either concluded or started their careers with the Titans/Oilers, but were more well known playing for other teams in the league.

Kick/Punt Returner                 Billy "White Shoes" Johnson played from 1974 to 1980. he is ranked both first and second for touchdown returns in a season with four in 1975 (p-3, k-1) and second with three in 1977 (p-2, k-1).

Bobby Jancik played from 1962 to 1967 he averaged  26.5 yards per kick return. He led the league for two years which ranks him second all time in that category for the NFL.

Derrick Mason played from 1997 to 2004 where he returned both kicks and punts for the Titans. He averaged 22.4 yards per kick return and posted 11 returns for over 40 yards and 1 touchdown. Selected twice to the Pro-Bowl.

Punter                                     Craig Hentrich Played from 1998 to current. Ranked as the all-time punting leader for the Titans. He is ranked third all-time in the NFL with 35 punts inside the twenty in the 1999 season. His 36 .7 net punt average ranks him third all time in the NFL.

Kicker                                      Al Del Greco Played from 1992 to 2000 where he made numerous game winning field goals during his career he was 347 of 449 (77%) on field goals and 551 of 554 (99%) extra points, giving him a total of 1,584 points. He is ranked 11th all-time in the NFL in scoring.
