The Titans might have gotten themself back on track for the play-offs Sunday, but the jury is still out. Vince Young was 21-31 passing for 248 yrads with two touchdowns and 1 interception on the rainy afternoon.
The Titan defense was very happy with the return of defensive tackle Albert haynesworth to the line-up after missing the last three game sdue to a hamstring injury. His return to the middle of the Titans defense helped hold the Texans to 119 yrads rushing on the day after begining the game with a 74 yard drive culminated by a 1 yard touchdown run by Ron Dayne.
The win helps the Titans rebound after a three game losing streak where the Titans dfense has been very porus. "We want to contend for the playoffs. We have to keep playing. We are just going to play one game at a time and one play at a time and keep going" said Albert Haynesworth after the game.
Kyle Vanden Bosch on the return of Haynesworth said "Albert’s a dominant player. He affects their play calling, their blocking schemes. He’s probably the most dominant inside player in football right now. He just changes the game." Antwan Odum went on "It was good to have Albert (Haynesworth) back. He anchors our pass rush. They use two guys to block him, so it frees up a lot of people. We try to hit people and cause turnovers. Put a hat on people and make the ball come out. Today was a good day for the defensive line. The whole defense won out there today. We won 50% of our physical match-ups and I think 50% of our one-on-ones. We got the victory and that’s all we were looking for. The enthusiasm hadn’t been there, but we got that back today. It felt good to get a sack out there today and it was a fluke the quarterback got hurt. I think we hit that groove today and hopefully it will carry on to the next four or five games."
The win pushes the Titans record to 7-5 and drops the Texans to 5-7 and out of contention for the play-offs.
