Titans-Colts Week: Thursday Report

Titans-Colts Week: Thursday Report

Titans Head Coach Jeff Fisher talks about this weeks match-up against the Colts.

(on how LB Stephen Tulloch played filling in for injured LB Ryan Fowler)

Fisher: "He was very productive. He was in the right place almost the whole time and he made a whole lot of plays all over the field. He was very, very active."

(on having built depth through competition)

Fisher: "We've brought depth in. That was a priority of ours during the offseason. Guys like Kelly (Herndon) – I can go down the list. When they've been called upon, they've come in and gotten the job done."

(on his thoughts playing the last regular season in Indianapolis' RCA Dome)

Fisher: "There have been some great matchups there. Unfortunately, recently we haven't had as much success as we would have liked. It's a hard place to play, but I'm quite confident that the new place will be equally as hard to play."

(on if fans have a false sense of security knowing that Indianapolis might rest their starters)

Fisher: "I don't think there's any security associated with this game at all. We have to go up there and play four solid quarters of football, regardless of who plays. They proved last week that they can make changes in their roster and still put points on the board and keep points off the board (defensively). We're not consumed with what's going on, who's playing, how much they're playing, who's active and who's not, who's going to sub. We have to just go up there and play. And it's a tough place to play. They've got excellent depth in all areas. This thing will require four quarters of very tough football for us to get a win."

(on the strengths of Colts backup QB Jim Sorgi)

Fisher: "He runs the offense and he's watched Peyton Manning. He's going to do the same things that Peyton does, the same concepts, the same checks, all those kinds of things, which makes it difficult. You can't just sit there and defend the run when he's in there because he can beat you throwing. Then you sit back and play pass defense and they're going to hurt you with the run game. Even though he hasn't had a lot of experience playing, he can run their offense."

(on whether a good, strong start to the game could have a big impact for the Titans)

Fisher: "We have to keep their scoring down. To me, that's probably the most important part of the early game. Then we just have to keep playing. It's no different. We're not going to approach it any differently. You don't approach this game differently, regardless of who's playing."
