Heimerdinger was the offensive coordinator in Tennessee from 200-2004. He spent the last two seasons with the Denver Broncos. "Dinger" seems to be the perfect fit for the Titans and Vince Young because of the success he had with Steve McNair during his first tour of duty with the Titans.
''Mike was at the top of my list and we are fortunate he was available to come back,'' Titans Head Coach Jeff Fisher said in a statement released Thursday afternoon. ''We know each other very well and he is without a doubt the right person to help the offense take the next step.''
Heimerdinger's first course of action will be figuring out the reason for Young's regression last season and figuring out how to turn him into a great player in the NFL.
