The Tennessee Titans agreed to terms on a two year deal with unrestricted free agent safety Donnie Nickey Tuesday.
“We’re excited to keep Donnie on our roster,” said Titans General Manager Mike Reinfeldt. “He is a veteran player we can rely upon to work hard, help our depth at safety and be a leader on special teams.”
Nickey (6-3, 210) has played in 76 career games including six starts for the Titans and has totaled 36 tackles (30 solo), a sack, three quarterback pressures and a pass defensed in five NFL seasons. Nickey was drafted by the Titans in the fifth round (154th overall) of the 2003 NFL Draft.
While playing for Ohio State he started all four years and played both safety positions
A native of Plain City, Ohio, Nickey was a two-time All-American and first-team All-State selection at Creston (Grand Rapids, Mich.) High School.
