College Career
Regarded as the premier center in the NCAA Division 1-AA ranks, Amano was honored as the recipient of the 1-AA Dave Rimington Award, given to the top center in college football at each level of competition. After beginning his career as a guard, he made the smooth transition under center demonstrating quick feet and an excellent initial movement off the snap. Amano became a dominating center as he averaged 90 knockdowns and helped Southeast Missouri’s offense average more than 380 yards in each of the last two seasons. The California-native can also long-snap, something he has done since his sophomore season with the Indians. Amano has a 32.5 vertical, performed 30 repetitions of 225-pounds, a 620-pound squat, an 396-pound power clean and runs the 40-yard dash in 5.16. He was selected with one the team’s three compensatory picks in the seventh round of the 2004 draft (239th overall).
