Has a nice collection of uniform jerseys, as he began his Utah career wearing #5 in 2004, changed to #29 in 2005 and was given #28 when he joined Florida in 2006…His eight interceptions in 2006 rank second on Florida’s season-record list, topped only by Keiwan Ratliff’s nine pass thefts in 2003…First Gator to intercept two passes in back-to-back games (2006 vs. Alabama and Louisiana State) since Ratliff had two pass thefts vs. Louisiana State, followed by three interceptions vs. Arkansas in 2003.
2006 SEASON
Third-team All-American selection by The NFL Draft Report and Rivals.com…First-team All- Southeastern Conference choice by the league’s coaches, earning second-team honors from the Associated Press…Smith ranked fifth on the team with a career-high 54 tackles (43 solos), including 3.5 stops for losses of 11 yards…Deflected eight passes and blocked two kicks, gaining 13 yards on one punt return…Led the SEC and ranked seventh in the nation with eight interceptions for 44 yards in returns…His eight pass thefts rank second on the school’s seasonrecord list.
2005 SEASON
Academic All-mountain West Conference selection at the University of Utah…Played in nine games, starting vs. Arizona, Utah State, Texas Christian, Air Force, North Carolina and San Diego State at left cornerback…Sat out the Nevada-Las Vegas, Wyoming and New Mexico clashes with a foot sprain…Finished with 27 tackles (19 solos) and 1.5 stops for minus 3 yards…Deflected two passes and intercepted another.
2004 SEASON
Second-team Freshman All-American selection by The Sporting News...Named Mountain West Conference Player of the Week vs. Air Force…Started all twelve games at right cornerback…Recorded 44 tackles (26 solos) with a pair of sacks for minus 15 yards and three stops for losses of 16 yards…Returned a fumble recovery 4 yards and caused two fumbles…Deflected seven passes and had one interception.
