Training Camp: Day 22

Training Camp: Day 22

The Tennessee Titans have concluded the open practice portion of the training camp schedule and have now turned their attention to the trip to New Orleans to face the Saints.

22 of Titans camp, and for those wondering about the math of day 22, apparently we count all days, including off days as part of camp.

* The team was given a treat today, and apparently Ken Whisenhunt and his staff are good at keeping a secret. The players were lead to believe that they were about to go through what some thought was to be a long walk-through. Instead Whisenhunt and the staff took the entire team to a movie theater where they were allowed to pick one of three movies. The choices were, Hercules, Guardians of the Galaxy or Into the Storm.

* Zach Mettenberger was asked which movie he chose. The rookie admitted to watching Guardians of the Galaxy for the second time.

"I enjoyed it that much the first time,"said Mettenberger. "I thought I would see it a second time and kind of learn some of the lines from the movie so I can use on people."

* Justin Hunter had a great day today catching the football. He made three outstanding catches, including two leaping grabs. The first catch was early in seven on seven as he went high over Marqueston Huff for his first catch of the practice. He then out jumped Jason McCourty on the back line of the end zone for a touchdown in eleven on eleven. The third grab was a fight for the ball on the sideline with Khalid Wooten, which Hunter out battled for the ball.

* Marqueston Huff is quietly having a nice camp. The rookie appears to be gaining comfort and is making more plays. He had the only interception of the practice Wednesday as he intercpeted Charlie Whitehurst.

* The offensive line drew the ire of Whisenhunt on one play in the eleven on eleven period. Jake Locker dropped to pass and three defenders were in on him almost immediately. Locker threw the ball away deep down the siddline. Whisenhunt shouted at the line and then had the play ran again.

* The Titans will conduct a walk through on Thursday before flying to New Orleans in the afternoon for their Friday match-up with the Saints.
